Entry Requirements and Prerequisites

The information below details the necessary prerequisite studies and the range of entry options available. If you cannot meet the standard entry requirements, you may be eligible to apply using the non-school leaver entry pathway. Flexible entry programs such as Access Melbourne are also available to meet the needs of other students.

The 2009 clearly-in rank is the ENTER at which all applicants received a Commonwealth supported place in 2009. This is an indicative score only, and changes each year according to the number of places available, the number of applicants, and the quality of those applicants. In 2009, the clearly-in-rank was 95.2.

Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE)

2009 clearly-in rank ENTER: 95.2 (for a commonwealth supported place)

Minimum ENTER: 92.00 (for Australian students)

Guaranteed ENTER: 92.00 (for an international fee place)

Study score of 25 in Units 3 & 4 Maths Methods (either) or Specialist Mathematics

Study score of 25 in Units 3 & 4 English, English Language or Literature;
Or study score of 30 in Units 3 and 4 English as a Second Language (ESL)

Students intending to major in actuarial studies are encouraged to have completed Units 3 and 4 Specialist Mathematics.

 

International Baccalaureate

2009 clearly-in rank notional ENTER: 95.2 (for a commonwealth supported place)

Minimum notional ENTER: 92.00 (for Australian students)

Guaranteed notional ENTER: 92.00 (for an international fee place)

Mathematics and English:
  • Standard level: Grade 5
  • Higher level: Grade 4
Students intending to major in actuarial studies need to complete higher level mathematics.

 

Australian interstate secondary qualifications

2009 clearly-in rank: TER/UAI/ENTER: 95.2 (for a commonwealth supported place)

Guaranteed TER/UAI/ENTER: 92.00 (for an international fee place)
