University Scholarships
The Melbourne Undergraduate Scholarships Program is one of the most generous and comprehensive scholarship programs in Australia. The University awards a number of scholarships to outstanding commencing Australian and international students based on academic merit.

Melbourne National Scholarships
Melbourne National Scholarships are offered to Australian or New Zealand citizens, or Australian permanent residents who achieve outstanding results in their secondary studies. In 2007 there were over 140 National Scholarship holders at the University of Melbourne including over 80 interstate students.
The scholarship includes a HECS exempt Commonweath supported place, and an annual allowance throughout the duration of the course. Up to 55 scholarships are available to undergraduate students commencing their studies in 2008.
It is essential to apply for a Melbourne National scholarship. Online applications open 6 August 2007 and close 31 October 2007. Late applications will not be accepted. Click here to apply online.
International Undergraduate Scholarships
There are 20 International Undergraduate Scholarships available each year. The scholarship provides a 25% exemption from tuition fees.
No application is necessary. International students offered a place in the BCom are automatically considered.
Melbourne Access Scholarships
Access Melbourne is a combined special entry and access scholarships scheme designed to increase participation of students from diverse backgrounds. One thousand of the University's new undergraduate Commonwealth supported places will be offered to students who have applied through Access Melbourne. In addition, many of these students will be awarded a Melbourne Access Scholarship.
New Generation Undergraduate Awards
To celebrate the introduction of the six New Generation Undergraduate degrees in 2008, the inaugural New Generation Undergraduate Awards will be offered to high achieving school leavers who enrol in one of the New Generation degrees in 2008. The award is valued at $2,500.
Melbourne Abroad Scholarships
Melbourne Abroad scholarships are available to assist students enrolled at the University to undertake part of their studies at an overseas institution. This one-off cash payment is valued up to $2,500. From 2009, a minimum of 800 Melbourne Abroad scholarships will be offered annually.
Faculty of Economics and Commerce Scholarships
The Faculty of Economics and Commerce offers scholarships to Australian and international students offered a place in the Bachelor of Commerce, for the duration of their course.

- Faculty exchange scholarships for Bachelor of Commerce students participating in student exchange (in addition to a Melbourne Abroad Scholarship), provided they are undertaking commerce subjects during their exchange.

Bachelor of Commerce Merit Scholarships
The Faculty offers up to ten scholarships to domestic students enrolled in the single Bachelor of Commerce degree. Selection is based on academic merit. Students must be enrolled full-time for the duration of their degree. The scholarships are valued at a maximum of $7000 for three years.
No application is necessary. All domestic students who are offered a place in the single BCom are automatically considered.
A.G Whitlam International Undergraduate Partner Scholarships
Up to 8 scholarships are available per year to international students entering the Bachelor of Commerce who have attended one of the following international partner institutions: Trinity Foundation Program, HELP, Taylors College, Sunway, BNU Zhuhai, Markham College. In addition Singapore Polytechnics are considered.
The scholarships are available through the generosity of the late Arthur Gordon Whitlam and are funded from the AG Whitlam Trust.
For 2008 the scholarships are valued at $6600 per year ($3300 per semester) for the duration of the course.
No application is necessary. Eligible students are automatically considered.
