Careers

The New Generation Bachelor of Commerce offers a number of options for graduates. BCom graduates are ready for the job market, and enjoy high rates of employment, above average graduate salaries and high rates of job satisfaction. Those who have chosen the approved accounting or actuarial studies sequences can proceed to the accreditation program for the professional body of their choice. Find out more on our Careers page and our Accreditation page.

Honours

The honours year comprises a fourth year of study, usually following the completion of the three-year Bachelor of Commerce. Students completing the Bachelor of Commerce with high results can apply to undertake the honours program. This provides an opportunity for students to undertake specialised study and research in an area of interest. The honours program allows students to further develop their analytical and research skills.

Honours graduates can go on to research and research-oriented programs including the PhD and Master of Commerce degrees. These programs develop a student’s advanced theoretical knowledge and research capabilities in preparation for academic and other research-focused careers. Find out more on our Honours page.

Further Study

Students can also proceed to further study leading to professional accreditation in a range of disciplines including law, engineering and architecture. They can also pursue further studies in their chosen commerce discipline, possibly leading on to research and a PhD. Find out about these options on our Further Study page.
